For thousands of years pottery has been around as a therapeutic art form. Pottery plays a significant role in Indian rituals and festivals. With pottery, we explore and connect with ourselves more. People try to create a perfect piece of art that gives them a feeling of satisfaction.
Pottery gives toddlers a sense of accomplishment and independence. They learn to create something from a scratch and see the fruits of their labour. It also helps with hand eye coordination, problem solving and creativity. Children of Sr.KG and Jr. KG classes observed a demonstration of a potter creating pottery on the potter's wheel. The little ones had a spark in their eyes as they saw clay turn into beautiful shape of lamps and pots.
